ADST – Information and Communications Technologies 9 / Career Education 9
Students in this course will learn how to use the Windows operating systems at an intermediate level. Topics covered will include: how to install the Windows OS to a PC, trouble shooting basic problems, how to improve performance of their PC using simple apps and techniques. Students will also learn simple cell phone application development, acquire a basic Networking understandings, as well as having the opportunity to explore the use of flowchart programming. Basic video editing and digital photo enhancement will also be covered. A small portion of the course will be devoted to the use and understanding of social media in our popular culture as well as an examination of its effects in our business world.
In Career Education 9 – students will explore the use of the software package Microsoft Office 365. Students will also participate in various career related activities to demonstrate their learning in this area. This course will be interwoven into Information and Communications Technologies 9.
At the end of this course, students will be credited for both ADST – Information and Communications Technologies 9 and Career Education 9.
