Economics

Economics 12

(MEC–12)

No prerequisite required

Students Will:

  • Use the language of economics to explain how common economic concepts affect our behavior;
  • Participate in experiments and simulations that will demonstrate economic concepts; and
  • Apply these concepts to everyday events.

To study economics is to consider the dynamic issues that affect the way we live and the decisions we make every day.

This course will help students understand how and why money is exchanged in society and will, more importantly, help them understand how the world works. Experiencing economic principles in class activities and applying these principles to front-page news stories will allow students to become better informed individuals and decision makers.
